Nice weight bra - VERY small fit
April 10, 2012

I generally wear an XS in my sports bras and ordered this in a small based on other reviews. Even in a small, I found the fit around my rib cage very tight. I really liked the weight and material of the bra but was disappointed by the fit.

Patagonia Women's Product
March 16, 2012

I chose the Active Mesh Bra by Patagonia. Put it on right away to see if it was the most comfortable. I wore it half of the day. I kept telling myself... yes, it is still comfortable. I like this. It is very supporting and a bit snug but a comment told me that it stretches over wear and still fits good. I've been stretching it on my chair. What can I say? I bicycle, kayak, run, walk and chase after my 3 1/2 year old grand son and granddaughter..

Best sports bra ever!
March 02, 2012

I finally decided to splurge and invest in one of these sports bras after hearing so many good things about them. After wearing this on just one outing, I ended up buying another and throwing out all of my old sports bras that I thought used to think were of good quality! The best thing about these sports bras are that you don't even notice you're wearing them! They breathe so well and you never have to readjust them. I wear a 32 B/C in normal bras and I wear a small in these. I can't comment too much on the support, as I don't need a lot. But after wearing it all day it does tend to ride up and kinda rub on the underarms, though.

Pros: Great design, Performance

Snug fit, durable, and stays dry
February 07, 2012

I have 2 new and 1 old Patagonia Active mesh bra. They do fit a little tight but stretch slightly after you have them. My older bra has stretched barely but enough so that it fits well. I tried on a medium and a small, and the medium was too big. The small is definitely a tighter fit but I was fairly certain it would stretch slightly so I bought the 2 new smalls. I love the wicking ability of these bras - they stay nearly dry no matter how much I sweat.

Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance
Cons: Cost, slightly too snug

fits very small
January 18, 2012

I am a great fan of Patagonia underwear (panties etc) and I was excited to get the fitting bra. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, it fits very small. I am a 75B and small was waaay to small. I had to send it back. Compared to other sports bras, this is a simple model which has its pros and cons. It is defintely not the most flattering model. I bought one from Lululemon and a more simple one from EMS (brand) as I was not convinced of this bra. Sorry for this rather unspecific review, but the performance is hard to tell since it didn't fit. My advice: get a size bigger!

Great but fits very small
January 10, 2012

This is a great sports bra. I love it for skiing. But it fits very small. I am a 34A and the "small" was way too tight around the ribs. The "medium" allowed me to breathe much better and was still quite supportive.

Cons: very small

Loved the one I bought last year...
September 18, 2011

not so much the one I just bought. I bought last year's bra in a size large and the fit is great. There's lots of support, lots of freedom of movement, and it's so very cute! However, the bra I just purchased in a size large is TOO tight! I can't breathe. So I returned it and tried an x-large, and it was TOO big! No support. And so I am sadly returning it.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Cons: sizing too tight

This sports bra is awesome! Great support, minimalist design. I am very active physically with running and exercising at the gym, and this bra is excellent under a tank top or shirt, or worn alone. I will be ordering more of these!

Previous reviewers had mentioned that the newer bra was tighter, but I did not find that to be the case. I have a version from about 2 years ago that fits exactly the same as the newest version. For me, the difference is the feel. The new one is a little stiffer and a little harder to get on, while the old one is much softer and stretchier. Once they are on, they feel exactly the same and I can wear them comfortably all day. By the way I am a size 34B and the Small fits perfectly. I wear them for running and they are adequately supportive.

So, I have several of these from different seasons. They all seem to fit & feel a little different. I have a newer one that is really soft and comfortable but not very supportive and I have a few older ones that are not soft, tighter, and more supportive. Not my favorite but I always love the cute patterns and will probably continue to buy this style and they are not too costly. I am a 34C and I have the medium. Mine have also started to fray and come apart around some of the seems but I have definitely used them a lot.

Really like it
July 20, 2011

I first bought the size Medium, which is my usual size, but it was really tight. The Large fits much better so I'd suggest ordering a size larger. It's a very comfortable top and I'm tempted to buy another in a different color. It's designed well which allows for alot of freedom of movement and it looks like it's durable and will last long.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

I don't get it...
July 02, 2011

The Patagonia Active Mesh Bra has been my go-to hiking bra for years - just enough support (36C) in a Medium for low impact, super wicking, super comfy, adn not too smushy... then this year... what happened?!?!? I ordered 2 new ones to replace some worn-out ones from years ago (oh yeah, they held up, too!) and I could barely get my arms in, let alone my shoulders or chest!!! I don't know why Patagonia changed the fabric and style of this bra, but I think I would need an XL now, and that's ridiculous! 5 stars for the old model/1 star for the new!!!

I really liked the look, feel, and quality of this bra. However I did not like how long it was vertically from the top of my chest to my abdomen. If you are looking for a bra that has a lot of coverage, then this would definitely be a good one. Yet, I personally prefer bras that are not as big.

great yoga bra
May 10, 2011

I use this bra primarily for yoga and have been really happy with it. It provides enough support (for A, B sizes) without being uncomfortably tight. I plan to also wear it for hiking and other sports. Overall great product and looks better than most sports bras. Since I got it fairly recently I cannot really comment on durability but it seems really well made.

November 10, 2010

continued excellence
November 08, 2010

active mesh bra continues to be an excellent athletic bra for ANY activity (from distance running to vinyasa yoga and everything in between). easy on/off style. soft but very supportive fabric. no chafing, ever. best, though, for A/B cup sizes.

support and comfort
October 13, 2010

When I first tried on the bra, it felt really tight. However, it offered excellent support during running, and was very comfortable. This year (2010)'s model is better fitting than previous years, with longer shoulder straps, it no longer cuts into the shoulder blades. Highly recommended for all highly active sports.

Best Purchase Ever
October 08, 2010

This is the most comfortable, supportive and attractive sports bra I've ever purchased. I don't want to take it off. It doesn't bind; it's easy to put on and take off without dislocating a shoulder. I purchased one and wore it and then tried to purchase more in other colors, but none were available in my size. I'll have to wait until Spring.

My favorite sports bra
September 29, 2010

This patagonia sports bra is my favorite. As a runner, I've tried a bunch of different options however these are always the ones I reach for as soon as they are clean. As a 32C, size 0/2, the small fits me perfectly and provides very adequate support for running (and I like good support!). The extra small is too tight.

Great Bra
September 22, 2010

I ordered a medium, I am 5'7, 130 lbs, B cup, and it fits great. I like that it doubles as a cami peeking out of a low cut blouse on a hot day when a full cami would be too restricting. White would not be a good choice to wear alone as a sports top since there is some show-thru. A good all a round bra!

Love this bra
September 22, 2010

I own 3 of these. This one was my fourth. Love the bright color and the fit is, as usual, great. I like that I can use this alone, some sports bras are really ugly! This one is beautiful!!!

A good all around bra
September 19, 2010

It does what it's supposed to, keeps things in place! I recently had to stop wearing any underwire bras as they were actually damaging my breasts, so I've been trying and buying all the Patagonia bras I can find on here. The cute colors and styles sold out fast in my size (M) but the plain white is versatile and looks like a cami peeping out from under a blouse without the weight and length. Sides are high cut--it takes a bit of getting used to, but it's not irritating. I wouldn't recommend white as a sports top on it's own--show through! All in all, another quality Patagonia product.

September 14, 2010

I haven't purchased one of these for 3-4 years and patagonia has changed them a bit- there is more coverage, the back and front come up a bit higher. The straps are really comfortable and don't dig.

lightweight and comfortable
August 12, 2010

i had never worn Patagonia bras prior to this purchase, and will not buy another brand ever again!! Wore this bra on a backpacking trip through the Tetons; it was extremely comfortable. Did not hold odor at all...important when showers are non-existent!! I am 5'3", 105 pounds, and wear a 36B-C in a regular bra. Purchased a medium in this bra, and it fit perfectly. Bit snug at first, but as other reviewers have noted, the bra quickly "molded" to my shape. Worth the price!!

Had to buy another . . .
July 13, 2010

So comfortable purchased a second one. I run and exercise with it on a daily basis, also wore it on a 3-day Mt. Baker summit trip.

Very comfortable-best sports bra for small cups
June 13, 2010

I'm 5'6", currently a plump 156lbs and wear a 35A bra. I purchased in medium and it fits perfectly. Even looks good too and doesn't accentuate the rolls. The bra is so comfortable I forget I'm wearing it. I originally purchased to wear when doing the P90x Plyometrics (jump training). I now own 6 of these since it has become the only bra I wear on the weekend whether I'm exercising or not. Thanks to all the reviewers for helping me decide!

Like the 24/7 Active Bra much better
May 20, 2010

This is fine as a sports bra, but it's not special. The double thickness means that it's like most other sports bras, and it doesn't do a lot for my shape. The Patagonia 24/7 Active Bra A/B was much better--lightweight and comfy, while SHAPING. It dried quickly too, while this one takes about the time any other sports bra would take to dry. Glad I didn't order a whole bunch.

Good purchase!
May 13, 2010

Was skeptical about this bra due to being a size 34D. Most sports bra that aren't fitted to cup sizes just don't work for me. Based on another customer's rave review who was a 36D I made the purchase. Very glad I did! Not supportive enough for high impact activities, but a great purchase. Will be getting others.

Perfect
May 12, 2010

The package came quickly and I love these bras. I was a bit skeptical thinking they would be good for only low impact stuff, but I played an hour and a half of serious tennis in the San Diego sun in it, and could not have been more comfortable.

Phyllis Stutzman

totally comfortable,pretty too
May 12, 2010

far and away most comfortable bra i know. Still good as new with many, many washings. Buy prettiest ones, they last.

surprise. good for big busted
May 08, 2010

I mostly wanted a comfortable bra for everyday wear and a walk or two :) This is great- full coverage- and just snug enough. I wear a 40- 42 C XL fits perfectly! somebody else wrote it is high up under the armpits- that is true and that is both good and bad, does kinda rub there but nice coverage too.

paola morchio

great product
May 04, 2010

very nice bra, great for running

functional and pretty
April 29, 2010

This is a nice bra, but I would size up if you don't want it to tight. I have not tried it for running, but have hiked in it and it feels wonderful. I got it in the claret red to match the briefs I had purchased. I just purchased another set in the nile blue. If you are looking for comfort that is also quite pretty you can't go wrong.

A Sweet Comfort
April 23, 2010

Loved the mesh bra. Fits perfect and sweet comfort without the feel of restriction of a bra with underwire.

not for tall women
March 12, 2010

I own other Patagonia bras and love them. I purchased this and found that there is no ability to adjust the strap length [this is an option with other Patagonia bras I have purchased]. I am almost six feet tall - it is too short for my torso so had to return

LOVE this bra!
March 11, 2010

I bought this bra mainly for hiking, but it's so supportive that I find I can wear it even for trail running. It also wicks away moisture so I can wear it comfortably on really hot days. I bought the bra in Claret Red - beautiful color! I plan to buy more!

Great supportive bra, but material a bit rough
March 08, 2010

Not as soft, seamless bra as I was hoping for. A small breasted woman, I was looking less for support and more for soft material. The Patagonia underwear were so comfortable, I decided to try the bra (was on sale). This material is not soft, but wicks sweat very quickly. It seems to me this bra would be very supportive for larger breasts.

Forgot I was wearing it
February 17, 2010

I bought these bras for tropical hiking and have ended up wearing them for yoga as well. It's great peace of mind to be upside down and know that everything is staying in its place! Comfortable, lightweight, very breathable. Most days I forget I'm even wearing it. I would recommend this to any woman looking for a hot-weather, low impact bra. I bought small (I'm a 34C), was concerned at first that they might be too snug, but no worries. They're perfect.
