Casual Khakis - soft and comfortable
May 02, 2012

Also in search of the perfect khakis. These are very nice khakis. The Duck Pants used to be made of heavier cotton which wore well and held a crease a bit better, however these will likely be the best warm weather khakis around. Very soft, lightweight and comfortable. Just flew across the country and back on vacation and wore these pants on the plane and back. Awesome comfort and good fit. True to size with the perfect waistline, solid buttons and good felling pocket cloth. Zipper appears to be longer than normal, so fly seems kind of low. Length is fairly true to size. These are last year's pant, so the leg room is ever so slighty larger/less slim than the new ones. I probably perfer the newer cut. Interested to see how they hold up given the cotton weight is really light. Also interested to see how they take to an iron and some starch for the work days when wool slacks arent necessary. Overall, tremendous buy at this price. bought 2. may have to buy two more. Thanks, Altrec. Cant beat this price on Patagonia khakis.

These are very comfortable pants - one of the best pairs of khakis I own. The regular size (supposed to be 32 inseam) seems a bit long but I am not sure if they will shrink.

Not what I expected
January 18, 2012

While these pants fit well, the fabric is thin and not made for tough outside work (like splitting logs, etc.) as advertised. Also felt these pants were pretty expensive compared to other brands.

Pros: Build quality
Cons: Cost, Low performance, too lightweight, expensive

Quality pants!
January 13, 2012

These pants are a good version of your traditional khaki pants. Fit is trim but not too tight and they look good for work or play. I am 6'1" and always get the 34 long version. I have not bought a bad pair of Patagonia pants yet. Plus, they usually last a long time and the style is timeless.

They seem more like dress pants like then rugged outdoor pants. The canvas material is not as thick as expected. But they will do for around town and yard work pants.

Pros: Build quality, Ease of use
Cons: Low performance

I gave these to my husband when I caught them online on sale. He has a pair in a khaki color and loves them so I wanted to snatch these up. He loves these as well. You can dress them up or down. He loves the fit and says they are very comfortable. Can't go wrong at a good price on these.

You will love these pants.
October 12, 2011

I am trying to follow the advice of Yvon Chouinard to consume less but consume better. I feel good about buying these pants. I know they will last me years and years because of the classic styling, the durable materials and quality of construction. Plus, they are made from organic cotton so you can feel better about the impact this product has on the world around us. The cloth is sturdy but soft. The finishing details (seams, pocket stitching, etc.) are top notch. These pants remind me a lot of the quality, made in the USA clothes I was able to have as a kid. The picture of the model wearing these pants does the pants a disservice. They do not look so sloppy/slouchy in real life. Then again, the tape measure says I should wear a 34 and the 32 in this pants fits perfect. Maybe if i was wearing a 34 they would fit like the picture. So I would say they run a size or two large in the waist. Still, this is a quality pair of pants that will make you look good and feel good. I use mine for work, for casual wear on nights and weekends, and I even use them to do work around the house. They can take it all and after a quick wash they are ready to tackle the upcoming week. Consume less and consume better with the Patagonia Duck Pant.

Duck Pants
September 19, 2011

The pants are good quality and comfortable. I found that I needed a size larger than I would normally wear in jeans. The inseam is also a bit shorter than a similar inseam in jeans. Overall a great product--I will probably buy another pair.

Men's Duck Pants
September 14, 2011

Not having wored this style of pants before, I was really hoping I would have a pant that fit my legs and my just over 36 waist line at the same time. They met my expectations. The fit in the leg is relaxed yet stylish which makes them a great pair of pants for either working with work shoes of hitting the town with loafers. They move with my body while keeping the mature yet built look I work on, and at 6ft and 216lb that's not easy. They're great, you'll love them. Buy a pair.

The best everyday work/living pants
June 01, 2011

These pants are great. They are fancy enough for a casual office environment but relaxed enough for everyday living. They're organic cotton so you can feel good about helping the planet out just a little. Fit is a little loose, probably normal or relaxed. Weight is nice with being heavy enough for the cold but light enough for summer weather. Altrec didn't have the size I needed at first but provides a great service by allowing customers to sign up and be notified when the right size becomes available.

Not as good as they used to be
May 14, 2011

I am a loyal Patagonia shopper. I have been buying Patagonia clothes for over 20 years, in particular, their Duck pants. I know these pants inside and out. And I can say over the last 5 years or so, I have seen a drop in quality. The pants I bought a year ago, have visible wear from washing. The 3 Pants I bought 3 years ago are frayed at the cuffs and the crotch has ripped open on all of them. SO don't think these are going to wear like the duck pants that built Patagonia's reputation, they are not. So why do I still recommend them? Well, to be honest I do not know that I can recommend them for you, but I can recommend them for me. I am a sucker for Patagonia and if you are a sucker for Patagonia too, you will like them, they still have a great cut, and they still are as comfortable as ever. Just know they are not as good as they used to be. For those that go forward with this purchase, also know these are a Patagonia's relaxed fit. So if you are a 40 buy a 38, etc. They are basically a one size larger in the waist, length is true to size.

Pros: Great design
Cons: Wears quickly, Cost, Poor quality
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 5 / 5

Nice pair of pants
May 01, 2011

Really like these pants. Super comfortable. Been wearing these for 6 months or so now and they're holding up well - standard patagonia quality. The material is a little lighter than the average denim. Fits a little looser than patagonia's outdoor-gear products. But for casual use, I'm real happy with these guys.

December 30, 2010

I really do like the pants. The big "however..." The original pants from a few years ago wer longer lasting with a more anatomical fit. I have an average athletic build and these pants fit a little snug in the seat. I found a size that works well. The original fit was better. The original material was heavier. The good thing about this new material is that it is perfect for year round use (fine in summer).

These pants have turned out to be great for "business casual" wear. I have been wearing them for a month now and am extremely pleased with them. I purchased the corriander or british khaki color. The material is great for wearing to work (not to heavy) and there is no sign of the color fading yet. I am 5'11", 160 and the size 33 Regular fits perfectly. I just hope these last as long as the old version of Patagonia Duck pants.

Nothing special about these. The feel & the quality of these pants pants are on par with other brands you would find at department stores (Nautica, Hilfiger, etc..). I guess you pay a premium for organic & recyclable(?)

I ordered these in my normal size and everything fits as expected. I was surprised at how light the material is, but that brings them into play for various reasons over some heavier pants. Casual look and feel, it doesn't seem like you're just wearing khakis...

Duck Pants in Duck Country (U of O)
May 29, 2010

Very comfortable and lightweight pants... well made. I have a pair of khaki and a pair of wildwood pants. I'm glad that Patagonia offers the short, 30" version. Even though I'm average height, a little over 5'9", I don't like my pant legs scraping on the ground. Another great Patagonia quality product made of sustainable material.

The new lighter weight fabric is a nice change. Seems like they'll be as durable as in the past. Nice neutral colors and good fit.
