The Patagonia Better Sweater has become one of my very favorites. So much so, that I now have five of them in different colors. They are soft, so comfortable, and warm. They are perfect for taking off the chill of a cool evening or as a great insulator under a shell.

He wants more! I bought it in several colors thinking he would choose one---he kept all of them. Ulta cozy, but lightweight. Great for dogwalking but can also go out to a casual dinner.

Another great product by Patagonia. This jacket/sweater works perfect for cooler fall/spring temps. Fits true to size and very soft and warm. I am 5'10 175 and the size L fits nice.

Very Comfortable, Warm Jacket

This jacket is surprisingly comfortable! It has a unique, and elegant outer exterior (zoom in on image) while maintaining an incredibly soft and warm inner fleece-type material. It has two, deep front pockets that are lined with the same material which also prove to be quite warm. While overall I think it is an incredibly comfortable and warm jacket, there are a couple features I wish had been included. As the jacket fits me a little loosely (I'm 6'0", and 175lbs and wear a size Large), it would have been nice to have had some durable synch cords built in. Additionally, I've always been a fan of zippered breast pockets either on the interior or exterior of the jacket, something this jacket does not include. Overall, highly recommend this jacket. Though I have not had it long, I believe, like all Patagonia products, this will provide unrivaled durability and comfort for years to come.

When it comes to fleece Patagonia does it right they have been making great fleece products and I have been buying them forever. The better sweater is just a great sweater very well made very warm and fits very well. When there is a chill in the air I throw it on while having my morning cup of coffee as I sit on my porch outside and so warm and comfortable . Do not forget a very nice styled sweater as well. I always look at zippers on jackets and perfect one on the Better Sweater. Wears very well can be a great mid layer in really cold weather as well. It really is one of my go to Jackets try one on and you will want one and Patagonia stands behind there products and has some of the best customer service in the industry . Altrec .com has a great selection and excellent customer support.

This product is another example of Patagonia style and quality. Exactly as the name says: BETTER! The sweater jacket is of the highest quality, fits well, comfortable and warm....The sweater has it all! Not all fleece is equal

Patagonia always has a knack for creating great garments, and this item is a perfect example of that. While others make great technical layers (as does Patagonia too) this piece blends the technical with comfort and casual style. No one will look twice if you wear this not a nice restaurant, unlike some fleece tops that make yo look like you were on the way from or two a crag. I love this "sweater"

I have had a Patagonia fleece for years and it's been great so I purchased this jacket.Just received the better sweater and it feels great and kept me very comfortable on walks to the beach. Fits well and the fabric is just the right weight. I live close to the beach in LA and even in the summer the marine layer can come in with a chill, this is perfect for all year use.

Not your normal fleece

As with all Patagonia products - this one has great quality and detail. If you are looking for a "not your normal fleece" jacket, this is a great alternative. It has a nubby, sweater-like appearance on the outside and fleece on the inside. A very nice contrasting appearance and a more upscale look.

I bought this jacket as a present for my brother. It was based on my own recommendation since I have the woman's version of the Better Sweater. Patagonia products have always impressed me. I absolutely love the better sweater. It is very warm and comfortable.. The jacket has a great knit outer look, and the inside has the soft, comfy fleece. I wear my better sweater constantly, oftentimes instead of my wool coat! I am certain that my brother will love his as well.

I purchased this sweater jacket last year for my daughter and she loves it and wears the jacket all the time. I ordered this jacket for my son-in-law who also loves it. Very comfortable and versatile, does fit true to size.

Picked this up for travel and work as much as for wearing out in the wild. Own other Patagonia fleece jackets, and this was on the snug side. Not a complaint since it works better as a form fit jacket, just a heads up.

Great jacket for San Francisco type weather. This is my second Better Sweater and use this as my everyday jacket for work and play. My older jacket lasted about 3 years before looking a little tired after many washes. Really warm and comfortable. Fits great but sleeves are a little long but Im not exactly a big person. Great everyday jacket, would purchase again. Altrec delivered in 2 days, great service.

The sweater is great as outerwear around town on chilly mornings but also works great as a layering piece under a large jacket for extreme cold. I'm 6'1" and 215 lbs and it fits perfectly across my shoulders, good arm length, and doesn't ride up when moving around or hiking. Another great product by Patagonia.

Love the design and VERY typical Patagonia Quality. True to size (large) and, although the sleeves seemed long, was typical for Patagonia sizing for their "regular" characterization. Altrec shipping arrive a day ahead of the "predicted" delivery date. Very nice surprise. Cannot rate durability as I've only had it for a week. No wind protection and not intended to be (see product notes).

I ordered my first BS about six months back. Ended up wearing it almost every day, so I decided I should probably get another. The first one is still in perfect condition... this really is the best sweater/sweatshirt/jacket I've ever had, especially for the price.

Best Everyday Jacket

Since getting this jacket I have worn it almost daily. It has become my go to jacket, and over the month or so since I bought it, it has become more like an old friend. The Better Sweater breathes well and is super soft inside. The jacket has a great fit and style. It also has the perfect amount of warmth for fall. The only real drawback is that the fleece on the inside is getting mashed flat at the elbows and forearms. I guess this happens to most fleece jackets though, at least mine anyway. Overall it is my favorite jacket.

I thought I was getting this item in blue. I guess I only payed attention to the photo and not the color description. I ended up getting Burlap. Not one of my favorite colors. Regardless, I think this item is great. Super comfy! Too bad it's the middle of summer and I have no reason to wear it yet.

Dang, I loves me some Better Sweater. I have a full zip and a 1/4 zip and would love to have one in every color. They are so easy to slip on in the cooler times of the year and are super comfy and warm ENOUGH. I guess I'd love to combine the two and have the full zip with a chest pocket, that would be IDEAL. As it stands the full-zip does NOT have a chest pocket only the 1/4 zip does, so if you are looking for this feature you'll want the 1/4 zip.

Typical Patagonia slim fit. Much warmer than I was expecting. Extremely comfortable with a casual but dressy look to it. I highly recommend this sweater to anyone looking for a fleece that doesn't look like a piece of technical clothing. Two thumbs up!

Great gift

This gift was a big hit with the recipient - he loved the cut and feel of the sweater/jacket, and found it to be quite warm (a little too warm to wear inside, but perfect for walks on a brisk day). The color of the blue jacket is a striking shade as well, especially for someone with blue eyes. He hasn't been wearing it long enough for me to comment on durability, but it is comfortable, attractive, and seems to be well-made.

Extremely Comfortable

I now have two of these and wear them as jackets on not so windy days in New England. I'm a big guy (5'11"- 250lbs) and this sweater fits perfect. The sweater has two large internal pockets that allow for added convenient storage which comes in handy if you have to navigate through airport security as much as I do.
