High Quality Belt
February 12, 2012
The friction belt concept is simple and works great! Once you own a belt like this or the Patagonia Tech Web Belt you'll never want to go back to a belt with a traditional style. You just cinch the belt as tight as you want it and it doesn't slip. No messing around and problem free! The friction belt is really thin. I like the wider Tech Web Belt better but both are great products!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat looking, durable belt
January 24, 2006
This belt has a metal closure, and the overall belt is made of very durable material. Plus 1% for the planet. You can't beat this belt. Well worth every penney. This was my first, but will not be my last.
Great Belt
September 02, 2011
I bought one in 1993. I wear it probably 8 out of 10 days - year round. I'm wearing it now!! Since purchasing this belt, my weight has fluctuated anywhere from 190 to 225 lbs and it always fits perfectly. Extremely durable and easily adjusted.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: noneIt looks good and keeps my pants up.
October 16, 2007
It looks good and keeps my pants up, what else is there to say about a belt.
Greatest Belt Ever
November 16, 2008
This belt is fantastic. It plays well on the trail and at the office (assuming your office is not Wall Street).
High Quality
March 13, 2005
The built serves its purpose. It's high quality and fashionable. There's only so much a belt can do.
Great belt
July 06, 2011
light and strong belt. great purchase...i like it alot. its light. how long does thing have to be? i like the blue better than the red .........................................................................................................................get it
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueVersatile athletic belt
October 10, 2004
Does a good job of keeping your pants/shorts up while doing anything athletic. The adjustable strap holds firm and is infinitely resizable. It is reversible so you actually are getting two belts in one.
Small belt, very plain
June 26, 2009
Another small belt, very small buckle, plain style. Not what I was looking for.
Ideal belt for purpose. Should last awhile

Ideal belt for its purpose. Should last awhile.
My favorite belt
January 09, 2011
I have never owned a belt like this. It appears to be made of the same strong materials (buckle and webbing) as a climbing harness, and it has a classy appearance. I am very happy with this belt! It is infinitely adjustable up to the limit of its length, which suits me well. Some days I am fatter than others, and I need a little leeway. :^) Seriously, it is a great belt that I'll use for years.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, handsome artistic designWrite a review for the Patagonia Friction Belt here.
simple design, solid construction = Reliable
November 17, 2010
Great belts. This is my 2nd. I only bought another for the variety of color. My first has been used daily for almost 5 years! Great product that will last for years. Enjoy!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts foreverWrite a review for the Patagonia Friction Belt here.
Very nice!
February 11, 2011
Very good looking, and well made. I wish that it was a little wider, but fits casual pants well. Wouldn't be good for hanging things from; too thin. But for holding up pants securely, can't be beat. Haven't had it long, the 5 rating on durability is based on quality and my expectations.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of usegreat belt
January 13, 2013
bought this belt for my son after he lost weight and didn't want to buy all new hiking shorts. light weight/ easy to pack. he wears it to work now as a field biologist.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts foreverPerfect!
March 17, 2010
Love the classic Patagonia design and low profile (no buckle bulge beneath my shirt). Also, it's lightweight and easy to pack.
No slip...love it
January 21, 2011
Many cool colors and prints. The one I bought is red and rust colored with cicle and semi circle design. I owned many belts of this type of design and they all slip and loosen so I'm always re-tightening my belt. Not the Patagonia Friction Belt!
Gift for my Girlfriend
December 16, 2011
This belt is pretty tough and tough to beat. The buckle and webbing are both great. We climb and ride motorcycles. This has been the perfect belt for out outdoor adventures and is great with her motorcycle pants.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts foreverThis belt is frictionless and useless.
February 08, 2005
This belt is all but wothless. It has insufficient friction to hold and becomes loose every few minutes. It requires constant adjusting back to where it started. Buy some other belt.
Light but Doesnt Hold
November 22, 2009
Nice belt, very light and reversible with slightly different colors on each side. The buckle does not hold tight and the belt will slowly creep open if its tight.
Great Belt, just wish the size was a bit smaller
July 28, 2009
belt is probably suited for large waists so has to be cut for smaller waists. leaves a ragged edge that sometimes fray even after burning end to try and seal
great belt
October 17, 2010
just as stated in add, great choices and great fit, it is easy to wear and has a great selection
Pros: Great design, Great valueGreat belt for shorts!
April 15, 2013
Tough, well made belt that is perfect for shorts and summertime wear. Think of it as a lightweight version of Patagonia's Tech web belt. Provides the functionality without the heft and bulk of their Tech web belt. Highly recommended!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueJanuary 14, 2012
Exactly what I expected of a friction belt. Neat design of turtles that turned out even cooler in real life than it appeared in the picture: it's a turtle inside a turtle design. The belt was a little too long for me so I cut it and burned the new edge and now it's just right.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of use, Great designNo Leather Here
September 20, 2012
Not a fan of leather belts. This belt fits smoothly to the body (no break in period required). You get the right length then cut off the extra, take a lighter and seal the end and thats it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Great valueamazing
February 07, 2004
I've worn this belt almost every day since I got it a few years ago. I've even used it as a makeshift harness for prussiking up ropes on trees...
Great lightweight belt
August 09, 2009
I owned a Silverfoot belt for a few years that was built similar to this but I like this design better because it is less bulky, breathes reasonably well, and has no problem losing grip with the buckle - so no need to keep readjusting since it stays where you put it. Another advantage that this item has over similar products is its width - 3/4" and 1" are fairly standard, but this 1 1/4" really gives a lot of stability.

good belt for casual wear
August 21, 2008
this is a nice simple belt that is purely functional. No bells and whistles with this baby, just there to keep your pants up.

Perfect!
November 02, 2010
It's simple but solid. This is the one what I looking for. Look so cool! Don't wait, just get it!!!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueNice belt
July 27, 2011
I was looking for a belt that was not too wide or thick, a belt that would lie flat against my waist and a buckle that did stick out and get caught on things. This belt definitely fits the bill. I wear it all the time. I have a 34" waist and it fits really well with not much excess belt material to get in the way. Great belt for all activities. I even wear it when I do yoga.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueBelting out thanks
April 22, 2005
I won't get caught with my pants down wearing this belt, which is aesthetically attractive and ethically reassuring: I can trust Patagonia's manufacturing processes to be more environmentally sound than other companies', and none of our bovine compadres had to suffer just so I can keep my trousers around my waist.
I wear it all the time
October 13, 2010
I bought the belt to use while hiking and backpacing, but actually wear it all the time. It's infinitly adjustable and will last forever.

October 04, 2010
This is a great item at a good value. I've already worn the belt a dozen times!
Pros: Great design, Great valueSeptember 12, 2011
This is the best belt I have ever owned...light weighted, sturdy, never gone loose! Also it feels good to wear a belt like this other than those leather ones, only for the thought of animals' welfare....thumb up!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useGood basic belt
October 15, 2006
This makes for a good belt, not great, but above average. I liked it well enough to order the Tech Web Belt, which is a thicker, more robust version of this belt.
does it's job
March 07, 2005
this belt does what it's supposed to. looks great too.
not a bad belt
February 05, 2005
basic climbing belt, as others have said very functional and should last awhile. not a bad price either, being Patagonia.
Great and slim!
March 25, 2011
I bought this belt because my thicker Patagonia Tech Web belt (although I love it) has a huge buckle which protrudes out and makes me look awkward. This belt is light, thin, durable, and does not slip! What more can you ask for? You can cut the end and seal it with some heat if you want it shorter. I now own three of them in various colors. I might buy more!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performancegreat low profile belt
November 08, 2012
great low profile belt. also like that it doesn't say patagonia anywhere...it's just implied by it's overwhelming coolness. also, this belt does what it is supposed to do--hold up your pants. the friction works!
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, Great valueLove the belts. Smooth transaction. Would order again.
September 05, 2008
Fine product. I want more an expect to order them.
Excellent belt
February 25, 2010
This belt was exactly what I was looking for -- low profile and functional. No slipping whatsoever! Another high-quality Patagonia product.
Great Belt
April 04, 2005
Good looking go anywhere belt at a great Altrec price.

Great belt
December 09, 2010
I needed a belt for some hiking pants that have a big waist, and this belt works perfectly. It doesn't interfere with my pack and doesn't loosen up. Great belt!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of usevery functional and durable
October 15, 2004
A very good belt. I owned one during college and liked the fact that it did not fray. Goes great with jeans, chinos or cargo shorts.
my son loved it
October 01, 2004
quick service no shipping $--gotta love it love the "stories"
QUALITY, FUNCTION, STYLE, COMFORT - the belt has it all
September 09, 2010
QUALITY, FUNCTION, STYLE and COMFORT - the Patagonia friction belt has it all. I love how it lays flat and doesn't add an ugly bulge. It does NOT slip and stays exactly where you want it without the traditional holes and spike of a normal belt buckle. Absolutely would recommend this belt.
Light & Secure
May 17, 2005
I have some other belts by a major company, that is a another name for a buffalo, starting fray at the buckle after a short time. So far the Patagonia belts are holding up. Thanks.

A belt for any occasion
September 10, 2002
The simple design of this belt allows it to match well with any sport short of travel pant. It comes in a large enough size that you would want to "hot knife" it to your appropriate size.
Nice Belt
February 26, 2011
This belt is just what I was looking for. It is lightweight, durable, and easy to adjust. The length is a little long for me, but since the material is so lightweight it doesn't hang down below my shirt. Overall, a very nice, simple belt.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great valueDid you recently buy the Patagonia Friction Belt? Write a review.
Patagonia Friction Belt
January 04, 2011
I just received this belt from Altrec and could not be happier with the purchase. The belt is not bulky but is very sturdily made (like all Patagonia products I have had over the years). It holds tight with no slippage at all, and is a nice length-no excess to cut off. It was delivered QUICK by FedEx Ground, even with the holidays! I'll be back for more Altrec purchases soon. Thanks!
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of usetypical Patagonia quality
October 17, 2006
A very nice basic piece that does its job well. Can't beat the price and the ironclad guuarantee.
Stiil the bast
April 12, 2010
Patagonia Friction Belt is still the best. I have never found another any better. Between my wife and me we own 5.

Just a perfect belt
September 17, 2010
Small minimal buckle with little bulge, sufficient width. I paid full price and it was still worth every penny!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useDoes it's job
February 13, 2011
Nice quality product (typical Patagonia). Good looking. I got the blue one, and it goes great with pretty much any color pants/shorts. Looks to be good for up to and including a 38 inch waist (which is my size). Maybe a 40, but it'd be close. I like it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valueGreat Belt!
July 15, 2009
Good quality, holds well and durable. However, it is a bit long, given my 34 waist.
Cool looking! Easy adjustment.
April 02, 2005
Nice belt. Goes with any pair of shorts or pants.
It just works...
May 04, 2011
I received the belt today and it is slim, light, and stays in place as it should. I would not recommend this for anything other than casual wear or out in the woods. It is definitely two thin for anything larger than a phone/multi-tool/knife.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valuesolid
March 12, 2012
Love the belt, very high quality, strap is sturdy and buckel is stong and doesnt slip. I used with my north face ski pants last weekend and it was very comfotable and low weight and no problems.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueNice belt for active wear
December 28, 2010
I work with children and am very active each day. I needed something to wear in class that is comfortable and professional looking and also not too heavy or bulky. This belt is perfect. It stays tight and can be sinched up if you want your pants held in place. I have worn it with jeans too but it does look a little casual compared to leather. I have two, the brown and the black with the patterns and they have much more style that a plain web belt. There is a pattern on the back that you can switch to for variety.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use5
March 14, 2006
its perfect I like that quality and color
Sturdy and Functional
May 04, 2006
Well constructed. Belt stays in place under stressful motion. So lightweight you'll forget you're wearing it.

A belt anyone would love.
February 27, 2005
The Friction belt made by Patagonia is a great all around durable yet stylish belt. It is reversible so it's like getting two belts for the price of one. It is a great buy and I would recommend this belt to anyone.
