Comfortable for sure
April 20, 2012
Out of the box, these were probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on. I used to have a narrow foot but years of running have made my foot a bit wider so I appreciate the roomy Keen toe box. Finally, shoes that don't pinch my toes. The footbed is also unique and forms to your foot after a little wear. My only complaint is that the quality of these shoes is not as good as I had hoped. Nothing too serious but there are differences in the stitching/seams between the left and right shoe. A little better quality control might be warranted. Overall, still a great shoe. Sizing was true to size.
Comfy

Bought these Finlay shoes for a trip to China and Thailand and was not disappointed. True to size, great arch support and cushion. Walked to many places without any complaints. these look great and well suited for traveling. I bought the shiitake color and is much darker than the picture.
Keen is King

I own 38 pairs of another shoe I "thought" I loved....until I tried on a pair of Keens. The toe box is sweet and construction the absolute best. Soooo comfortable right out of the box. I've just purchased my 11th pair....guess I'll give my OLD favorites away. Keens are here to stay and Altrec is the best for price and amazing customer service. My props to all of you. Try a pair and you'll never look back. PERIOD!!!
Pros: everything!!!Finlay Shoe

A great fitting shoe, wide and comfortable plus the toe area is well protected for front of foot stubs while at work or other activities. Will saddle soap or mink oil on the outside to make more waterproof. I like the tread traction design.
Pros: well madeGood so far
February 15, 2012
I'm still "breaking them in" as they are a little snug across the widest part (around where the laces start at the bottom). I didn't feel the need to size up though, I'm pretty sure they will loosen up a little bit. I do have a wide foot, and have migrated to the Keen brand for this reason.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I bought the first pair in brown and liked them so much I got them in black as well. They're very comfortable and provide great arch support. I do plenty of walking in the city and in rural areas and they feel great in both settings.
Pros: comfort, arch supportNice basic shoe
January 16, 2012
Comfortable, good looking all around shoe. Like most Keens, the sizing runs a little large. I typically wear size 10 and went with 9.5 on these, which was perfect. This is a good shoe for people that do alot of standing, but I wouldn't recommend them for intense activity (i.e. hiking).
Another great pair
December 28, 2011
My fourth pair of Keens - 2nd pair of Finlays. Only shoes I can keep on all day long without my feet getting sore. I wear 13 wide in athletic shoe, but the normal 13 in Keen fits me fine - plenty of room in toe box. Not a cutting edge style, but casual enough for most everyone. First pair of Finlays a year old and still have great support and fit and finish. Highly recommended.
Pros: great value especially if you catch them on sale!Good, comfortable but clunky!
December 22, 2011
Good shoes overall . Design/style is a bit dated, but they fit my feet well (DD size) although they are not quite as broad as other Keens. They are perfect for the winter when I cannot wear my sandals!
Pros: well fittingGood, comfortable but clunky!

Great shoes

I really enjoy these shoes, they have a great stylish look to them and as for the comfort they are by far some of the most comfortable shoes that I've purchased in quite some time. I am very pleased with them, I've only had them for a couple of weeks but they are great! I would recommend them to anyone.
Pros: comfort, looksVery Stylish
September 26, 2011
This shoe is very comfortable and stylish. I have problem feet and can wear this all day long without any problem!! The soles are nice and thick and the quality of the stiches are excellent. I will buy another pair!!
Pros: comfortablestylish yet rugged
July 16, 2011
love these shoes... they are a little wider than i expected (i run in brooks and asics for a reference, and find salomon and la sportiva narrow). nonetheless, these are great shoes, comfy, and can take a beating when doing light hikes (say up the Chef in Squamish) while still looking good for when you walk into town and want to look decent. i bought these because my girl wanted me to wear nicer shoes so this was a good compromise.
Pros: durable, stylish, comfySatisfied customer
July 10, 2011
I chose Finlays because I wanted something that combined durability with a somewhat quiet style (to match my personality, I suppose). I was not disappointed. Although some have said that this shoe runs large, I found that it's a good thing for me. I think my feet are a little wide to begin with, and I sometimes have trouble finding a shoe that has a suitable toe box to go with the length of the shoe. I decided to order my usual size (11.5). Happily, the Finlay has a generous toe space that's very comfortable for me, and I think it will work out well when the colder weather returns and I switch back to a heavier sock.
Great on the second go around

Ordered and got quick service from Altrec!!! First pair started to get that telling gap where your foot/toes crease on day one. I sent them back and got another pair. Happy to report that the second pair are going strong and are very comfortable. I also looked at the Keen Austins but the Finlays were more comfortable for my narrow feet. Got similar shoes for the wife and she loves her's as well. Size was true for both.
Nice Shoe, but not my favorite Keen
March 31, 2011
Over the years I have purchased many pairs of Keen Shoes. Rarely am I disappointed, but the Finlay fell a bit short of my standards. Usually, I am thrilled by the details, stitching and overall look of my Keens. The Finlay is built will less of these detail and is more of a single panel shoe than most Keens. Not a bad shoe, just not my favorite. Returned for a different Keen model.
Very Good Shoe
March 07, 2011
I am a big fan of Keens in general. I have their sandals and rubber boots and love them. I have very wide feet and these shoes do a great job at giving my feet enough room to breath. This shoe also has very good arch support.
Top 5 Shoe Purchase Ever
February 27, 2011
I've worn these for over 2 months now, and these Keens are good as new. Extremely comfortable and durable. I expect these shoes to outlast any shoe I've purchased of this type. Great shoes..........
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great valueVery Satisfied - Runs Large
February 13, 2011
I have been a fan of Keen shoes for many years. I found the Finlay model to be one of their more comfortable shoes. This is a great shoe. I am surprized however that their sizing seems to be running a half size larger than what I've always worn from them in the past. I had to size down 1/2 size on this shoe and a Targhee model purchased earlier this year.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityThese Make My Huge Feet Look Small
February 06, 2011
These Keen Findlays are a winner. They are a little wider than normal "bum-around" shoes. You might want to consider getting a half size smaller than normal. Super well made and not quite as clunky as some of the other Keen items I have seen. Seems to me like Keen is just getting better and better. Vort.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Great valueKeen Finlay - Perfecto
January 29, 2011
I've been wanting a pair of Keens for sometime. The Finlays fit the bill - a nice looking casual shoe with that rugged feel. I was told Keens ran 1/2 - 1 size small. I ordered up 1/2 size and they fit perfectly. They are especiallly comfortable - wide at the top giving me plenty of room w/ excellent arch support. All around I digg'em and would recommend them as a purchase
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueGreat to wear for teaching
January 25, 2011
I use these shoes as my everyday school shoes. My feet always feel great even after standing to teach for several hours at a time. Good traction and arch support mean I can use the stairs instead of the elevator. Great all around shoe that lasts for many semesters.
Pros: Performance, Great valueGreat Kicks
January 24, 2011
Sized right, roomy toebox. Feels/appears durable, sturdy. Great casual shoe to tour of the world or make a beer run...better if you can do one-in-the-same
Pros: Great design, Build qualityBetter than I expected
January 10, 2011
I was pleasantly surprised by these shoes. Always been a bit of a fan of Merrells but right from the go they were good. I wear orthotics and even without them they felt pretty good with the manufacturer's insoles and it was great as they are removable and so I could slip my own orthotics in. A little light and they scuff some but overall for the price I am very happy. Also glad I read the other reviews. I ordered them a half size smaller than I normally would and they were right on for size.
Pros: Ease of use, Great valuethe best
December 29, 2010
These are my second pair of keen shoes. I loved my first pair, and it is the same with these. Comfortable from the first time I put them on. I can wear them with shorts, chinos, khakis or with jeans. I have wide feet, and normally have problems finding shoes that fit comfortably. These shoes are perfect for me. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Just make sure you get the right size.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueNice!
December 09, 2010
Just got these, yesterday, having worn out my last work shoes. Those were Keens, too. Note: The boxed toes of these shoes are not beaver tails, but they're quite wide: perfect for me because my feet are wide. However, if your feet are narrow, you might consider another shoe.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueVery comfortable shoe
October 07, 2010
I just recently received my Finlays and have been very satisfied to date. I find that they and other Keens run about a half size smaller for me so I ordered one-half size up and they fit great. They are quite comfortable, sturdy, and the toe protector not only keeps my toes safe, it protects the shoe. They are stylish in an understated way and I have already received compliments. More of a casual shoe but work well with jeans and khakis. I highly recommend them.
Pros: Great designRuns Large
October 05, 2010
I must say that I am a big fan of Keen. I like their products and their company. I have several other pairs of Keens that I wear a size 9. A size 9 in these and I was not even close. Both in length and width. I am closer to a 8 or 8.5 in this model. Kinda strange. Other than that these shoes are similar in quality and style to my other Keen's. Just make sure to get the proper size.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performancedecent so far
September 30, 2010
Had them about a week, made my feet sore for a few days at first, but my feet are getting used to them now and they feel ok. I'm on my feet all day at work and now they feel better than the cheaper shoes I had before.
Pros: Build qualitySeptember 28, 2010
I spend a lot of time on my feet - these shoes are extremely comfortable and supportive.
Pros: PerformanceGreat shoe
September 16, 2010
My job requires me to be active on my feet most of the day while still looking professional. These shoes provide good comfort, support, and have done well to date with the rigors of my workplace. My only complaint is that these shoes do tend to run a bit big and the insoles provided were uncomfortable on my arch. I was able to easily correct both problems though by changing the lacing and using a shoe insert. I would recommend these shoes and buy them again.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceGreat buying service and great product
August 30, 2010
These shoes were the best value I found and worth the price.
slightly larger than other keen
August 09, 2010
I've had 6 pairs of keen shoes. The finlay seem to fit a bit larger than any of the others. That along with their having a less securing 5 hole lace system,as apposed to the typical keen 6 hole system, would make me recommend the austin over the finlay. But,they are still quality keen shoes.
