A good low key hiking boot
March 07, 2012
I look for a boot that is not the multi colored clown shoes that hiking/backpacking boots have become. This is it. I got the plain black. This is a beefier upgrade from my previous boot, the Keen Pyranees. This boot is comfortable, with a roomy toe area.
Pros: roomy, comfortable, subdued lookWore 1st pair for a year - just ordered another

I have flat feet and really bad ankles. Must wear boots or will be on crutches. Many boots just don't feel good and are uncomfortable. I tried the Keen's. Working as a trail builder, I am on uneven ground with lousy footing. Jumping on and off a machine or working by hand, my feet never barked and felt fine at the end of the day. Plenty of grip, not heavy, feet did not get wet, sheds mud on the soles, bang em off and walk into a meeting in town. What more can you ask of a boot? The half size small is accurate and order up. I am a happy camper and ordered a second pair. My first pair is not worn out at all. Just wanted a second pair before someone brand manager changes the product and I can't get them anymore!!
Great Boot

I have been an avid hiker for years and used many pairs of boots. I recently purchased these and I was very impressed on my first hike with them. I spend most of my time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire which can be pretty rugged terrain and these boots lived up to all my expectations.Very stable with great footing, very comfortable both ascending and descending. Did not get them very wet to test the waterproofing. It is rare to find a boot the first time out that does not leave a "hot spot" anywhere. The only reason I did not rate them a five is that as I said I just got them and have to see about their durability. They look great after the first hike but only time will tell.
Pros: comfort!, Cons: none at this point.Already own the Keen Erickson PCT Backpacking Boots? Tell us your thoughts.
Keen's Great Boots
November 08, 2012
I am an avid hiker, I take trips all around the southeast just to get into the great outdoors. I am especially fond of taking fly fishing trips in upstate SC southern NC and Tenn. I was looking for a great boot that was comfortable and waterproof. So I went and researched some Keen boots and ended up buying this great Keen Erickson PCT Boot. It is very comfortable and keeps the foot nice and warm while staying dry. I would recommend this boot to anyone looking for a great shoe for a great price that will take any trails that comes in its way.
