This is my second CARHARTT vest. In the construction trade it's important to be able to have both arms free to move about when working with tools. That's where this high quality vest works best in colder weather. I've owned CARHARTT outerwear and clothing for over 20 years and they have never let me down. I've done a lot of shopping around and Altrec has the best prices.

This is a great vest. It is very warm and the fit is great. The midnight color is actually dark blue even though I thought it was black. I may order another color.

lterally, warm but snug fitting, if you are on the edge of a size UP go with the next size,.. if your on the low end of a size it should fit ok.. I had to give it alittle bit lower5 rating for the poorly constructed collar, but I knew before purchase what I was getting there.. Otherwise another quality Carhart Product...

What a Deal! Typical superior Carhartt quality. Perfect for a working enviroment, hope to purchase a collared Carhartt vest in the future. Only concern is that the zipper runs high, which rubs my chin when not zippered up all the way.

This vest is the most comfortable and warmest vest I have ever had. Wore it during VERY cold days in Salem and it kept my core body very warm. The fit is exact to size.

I am a true medium size (38-40) in everything I wear. Even when I phoned Carhartt and asked them about the sizing to be sure before I ordered the vest, they told me their medium (also 38-40) would be fine, even with a sweatshirt underneath, and that they account for something worn underneath. They gave me very bad advice, they were totally wrong. A medium was VERY tight over a plain shirt, and I knew I'd have to order a large if I was going to wear the vest on top of a sweatshirt, or any other layer. That would be my only complaint, and it was an easy fix. I got a large size. Great exterior material. I didn't want a ripstop vest, because I always catch them on something and rip them. How tough is the exterior material? This material will probably never wear out. I may have this vest for the rest of my life, and be able to pass it on to my son. That's how tough it it. It's not as fashionable as some have said, but it is totally functional. I'm not really sold that it is as warm as the term "Arctic" makes me think it should be, but that's a really subjective term, and I'm just not sure yet how warm it is, but the description of the quilting, weight and feel in the advertisement is accurate. I think it's a very solid purchase, and I got the best price and service from Altrec. I think it is well deserving of an "Excellent" rating.

I really like my vest but it is too small all over. I would recommend purchasing a size bigger than what you normally wear. Other than that the quality and comfort are good. It appears to be very warm.

Originally purchased a Large Tall as this is the size of my current Carhartt jacket. The large tall vest was much more snug as is the intention of the vest. Had to reorder a Xtra Large Tall which fits great. Very high quality and extremely warm thus far.

This is the second time that I have purchased this exact product for a relative who lives in VT. He is active year round and loves this vest when the temps drop. The first one is still in great condition but with the second he can have one for working outside and one for wearing out an about.

Last Christmas, we bought one for my boyfriend's father, he loves it and wears it all the time. When working on our house this past week, my father saw his vest and mentioned that he liked it, so we had him try it on. It fit him really well - so now I know what I'm getting my father for Christmas! It's great for working and moving around - fits snugly so that it's not hanging off your body and getting in the way.

I like the picture and the color so I bought it on line. It was fast and easy to but on line. It was very easy to track on file. ( just click) A few days later it arrived at my house. When I received it, I was so happy to open the package. It was so cool, the same color I saw on line and it fits me great. I will surely buy from Altrec.com again.

Big enough to fit over a heavy corduroy shirt in the fall but not so bulky it won't easily fit under a heavy parka in winter. 6 Ft. and over I advise the tall so the drop tail gives you full tailbone coverage. The midnight blue is almost dressy enough to wear to the opera. Nice to have a full metal zipper, run a graphite pencil down it in the winter and it beats the nylon ones.
