On the strength of using my own Groove for 5-6 months, I purchased this CamelBack Groove bottle for my husband's Christmas present this year. This filter bottle is so convenient in work, home and camping situations for obtaining fresh tasting water. It is not intended to filter bacteria, viruses or parasites, so don't use it to filter water from creeks and lakes while hiking. It is great though with potable water sources for filtering out chemical tastes and odors. After using the bottle consistently for 4 months, 2-3 bottles daily, I noticed a tiny bit of the awful taste our municipal lake water source puts out in the fall. So I changed the filter as recommended by CamelBack and sure enough the bad taste was gone. Be sure to rinse the filter before installing it to remove any particulate. The Groove provides clear, clean, wonderful tasting water right out of the tap without having to buy bottled water and all the expense and waste that entails. The bottle is sturdy, BPA free and dishwasher safe. I like the bite valve for it's convenient no-splash drinking and the valve can be tucked down out of the way. This is an excellent product and I know my husband will use it all day every day like I do.
