2 Layer Gore Tex Perfection
January 15, 2012

I am 6 feet tall and weigh 220 pounds and the XL fits perfectly. This jacket does the job from opening day until the end of the season. Don't let the lightweight feel of this jacket trick you. When it is cold and windy, layering with a moisture-wicking performance t-shirt and fleece will keep you warm. The powder skirt does a great job of keeping snow from going up your back. The hood is big enough to be worn over a helmut. This jacket stops the wind cold due to the fully tapred seams. Even the Zippers are water resistant. On warmer days, the pit zips ensure that you don't overheat. The style of this jacket is unmatched. This jacket can make the transition from the slopes to the streets.

Great Quality
January 17, 2011

This is a quality product. It does an amazing job blocking wind and keeping water out. But beware, make sure you're prepared with base layers because there is no insulation. I'm 6'2" and 195 lbs and the Large fits perfectly. The length is great and the sleeves are a perfect fit.

Great Outer Layer
December 10, 2010

This is a great outer shell jacket. If you are looking for a shell with frills, this isn't it. If you are looking for a great waterproof GORE-TEX jacket that will keep you dry in the worst conditions, AK is the way to go. I pair it with a fleece layer on colder days and it's all I need. Does a great job of keeping the cold wind from piercing into your body as well.

Great Gore-Tex shell
December 07, 2010

recently purchased from altrec.com for an outer layer GORE-TEX waterproof shell (lightweight) to wear over a down jacket (for warmth). This combination is exactly what I was looking for... the AK jacket will keep me dry on wet, slushy, rainy days on the slopes of MT HOOD, and wearing a down jacket underneath will keep me warm and toasty on the coldest of days.... -Hoodlum

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Cons: Cost

This jacket is top notch, spent 2 months in Utah and pretty much rode everyday in it and never got wet, great quality for the price.

great gear!!!!

It's light and thin, yet waterproof is excellent. I was in the rain but it's still dry outside. I'm impressed!!!

Lil too baggy
December 07, 2009

I am 5'10"....175 and a Medium is a bit too baggy for my likings. Bad on the warmer winter days when you just want to wear a thin base layer, good on those frigid January days when you need to layer the up. Quality is solid, should be at this price.

Bullet Proof!
November 24, 2009

This jacket is solid - the fabric is not only wear resistant but looks good as well. I have last years model with the off set zip - nice to have that off the face - the fleece lining in the neck and pockets is great as well. Overall this jacket is another great offering from Burton.

Great looking jacket and quality appears 1st class
November 23, 2009

I always liked the Burton AK range for its understated simplicity (I'm 41 and dont look good in Neon pinstripe!) and bombproof construction. Intial thoughts are it is cut big. I am 155lbs and 5 11" and would be a medium anywhere else but the small is fine. I tried it on in a shop before I bought it. The sleeves and body are long. The aquazips are also VERY sticky and need a bit of a pull to open (hence the lack of 5 stars) It seems a common issue and maybe they will loosen up. Opening up on the mountain will be a gloves off exercise. The life time warranty means I am not too worried. A trip to Skidubai next week with be the first test of the jacket but I dont expect it to be anything but perfect

excellent
